Be a Conduit for Divine Love

Channeled Message from Isadora of Telstar

What life is worth living unless it exists as a conduit for divine love? Of course the standard on planet Earth is anything but this. Instead you have a standard of tolerance for all kinds of pain, suffering, and confusion. But wouldn't it be a much more enjoyable life if you were clear and fulfilled all of the time? And how indeed does one achieve this state of affairs?

It starts with a vastly different view of the meaning of one's life purpose. Human beings, for the most part, view life's purpose as something that they are informed about from the outside. In other words, as you grow up, you will be provided with an array of ideas and information about the various things that you can do with your life as an adult. The most popular item on this list is what you like to call a "job".

The trouble with the job mindset is that it is all about the purpose of someone else - oftentimes a perfect stranger. It's about a tradeoff where you trade your human energy to be used towards that person's purpose in exchange for money. In fact, most of the time, you don't even have to know the overriding purpose of whatever institution you choose to work for. It is simply enough for you to know about your own individual tasks. Beyond that, they figure you don't need to know anymore, because it's really none of your business.

So the institution trades money for your very own human energy. Divine love has nothing whatsoever to do with it. Your purpose in having a job is very likely to get money so that you can survive, and maybe even buy some extra things if there's any cash left over. What you are basically doing is selling your human energy to someone else for money. This is why a job so often feels like slavery. Because in a way, it is. It is a form of self-imposed human slavery.

I only bring up the subject of jobs to clearly illustrate that such undertakings do not necessarily lie in the realm of life's purpose at the level of the divine. If your job is an exception to this, then so be it. I certainly presume that you have the intelligence to know the difference.

If you currently have a job, this is not meant to imply that you should quit. I simply wish to suggest that you view it for what it is, and accept the fact that this is how you have chosen to earn a financial income. Why is this important? So that you don't erroneously categorize it as some form of legitimate competition for a life lived as a conduit for divine love. It is perfectly fine to view it as merely a means to get money to pay your bills.

Once you have achieved clarity on the true meaning of having a job, you can put the whole thing to rest and move onto thinking about what you are doing with the rest of your time. The rest of the time is when you have the freedom to think for yourself. So what, indeed, are you thinking about? Do you view the rest of your time as time needed to fulfill a very long to-do list, as though the list is just another job in your life?

If you see your life as a long to-do list, then once again you are allowing yourself to be directed from the outside. Now the list is your boss, and by the time you are finished (which you probably never are), you barely have time to sleep. This is a situation where people will claim that they just don't have time to meditate and connect with their creator. In fact, so many lives are lived from a perspective that God is on auto-pilot, so why worry? As long as you are alive and breathing, then God is clearly doing his/her/its job, so everything is remotely taken care of for you. No need to connect at all, right? God appears to be connected to you, so that's good enough.

Until there's trouble. Then it's "Oh my goodness! Where is God?" Well, if you haven't made time to connect on a good day, what makes you think that you will be easily able to connect when everything is going haywire in your life? When fear, confusion, and anxiety have gripped you in their cloud of darkness, why do you think that is the ideal time to start thinking about your creator and divine love? In fact, those are the times when you are about as far away from love as you can get. This is hardly the ideal time to get started connecting with the greater love of the divine.

It's kind of like being on a boat at sea, and deciding that because the waters are calm, it would be a great idea to completely lose all track of where the lighthouse is. You might say to yourself, "I don't have to worry about the lighthouse. In fact, these waters are so calm, I don't even need a compass!" You look at the lighthouse for a moment, and then you say, "Gee, that lighthouse is standing on solid rock. It's not going anywhere! I can get as lost as I want to, and that lighthouse will still be there."
So you throw your compass overboard and sail merrily off into the calm waters, knowing that you will always be safe because the lighthouse is built on solid rock. In fact, you feel so confident in the solid placement of that lighthouse, that you don't even need to know what direction you're sailing in. Weather reports? Who needs them when the lighthouse is never, ever going to move?

Off you go, sailing to and fro, being distracted by everything in your path. Suddenly, a major storm comes up. You can't see a thing and are being tossed about by towering waves in the midst of powerful, high-velocity winds and rain, all of which dwarf your tiny boat. You realize you have no idea where you are. You look around for your solidly built lighthouse and it's nowhere to be found. You start screaming for the lighthouse in terror, and curse the fact that this unreliable lighthouse doesn't show up immediately. You cannot understand why you can't see something that you just knew was forever there on its solid foundation. You decide that the lighthouse must hate you. Maybe it wants to punish you. Maybe you're just not worthy. Maybe the lighthouse wants you to die in this storm!

As crazy as this example may sound, this is how most people live their lives when it comes to God and divine love. Need I say more?

So let us move on to discussing how you can stay connected to divine love at all times. I am going to present to you the ideal scenario, and then you can enact that scenario either partway or all the way, depending on your personal inclination.

A smart captain on a boat will make sure to always know where the lighthouse is, so in the event of a storm, he or she knows exactly where to turn. How do we determine the human equivalent of that when it comes to the lighthouse within? The most ideal scenario is to allow one's entire life to exist as a conduit for divine love. This means that your sense of purpose is directed from the love within you, rather than by forces outside of you.

Given that most people are probably not willing to live in this way, let us go to the opposite end of that spectrum and talk about the minimum effort that one can make. The minimum amount of effort would be to set aside time every day to meditate, pray, or otherwise restore your conscious connection to God and the divine love within you. To take the time to center yourself and come into harmony with that love.

You know that you are probably starving for an experience of God's love, are you not? Then why not make some effort to receive it? If you don't, it's like sitting at a banquet, starving to death, and saying it's too much trouble to pick up your fork and eat. It's like saying that your to-do list is just too long and there's not enough time in the day, so you will just do without. After all, you're used to starving. You've learned how to cope, so why stop now? In fact, you don't even remember how to hold a fork, and you don't remember banquet etiquette either, and lord knows, you haven't got time to learn it now! You're just way too busy.

This is how so many people view the act of meditation or going within. They say they don't know how, they're too busy, and they already know how to cope without it, so how important can it be? If you're not willing to do the bare minimum, then you can hardly complain when trouble starts and you have a very difficult time finding an experience of God's love when you need it the most.

In closing, I suggest that you start with meditation as a daily touchstone. From there, you can expand your connection to divine love in whatever way inspires you. If you want to go all the way, then live your entire life as a conduit for divine love. This is the most challenging, yet rewarding life of all.
